New York US stock futures and stock markets in Asia Pacific were up during Asian trading hours Monday. But oil futures fell, a sign that investors may be feeling pessimistic about whether a resolution to the price war between Saudi Arabia and Russia will really be coming this week.
Dow futures gained 550 points, or around 2.6%. S&P 500 futures were up 2.7% and Nasdaq futures rose about 3.5%. Japan's Nikkei 225 advanced 2.1%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 rose 2.3%. South Korea's Kospi and Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 1.9% and 0.3%, respectively. Markets in mainland China were closed for a public holiday. US crude, meanwhile, fell as much as 11% to $25.28 a barrel. Prices were last down 6.3% to trade around $26.55 a barrel.
