Things got a bit heated in the stands during a U.S. Open qualifying match on Tuesday.
Twitter/sluggahjells“If you can’t take somebody cheering against your f–kng player — this is the US Open, there’s 12 million f–king people in this city! We are all f–king loud! F–king clown,” the spectator seethed.
Troiki didn’t take the bait and kept his voice low while the fan continued his verbal assault, screaming, “We’re cheering, you d–k! It’s New York, not f–king Serbia!”Troicki was in attendance to support fellow Serbian Hamad Medjedovic. When security tried to put an end to the incident, the fan defended his behavior and pointed to Troicki, saying, “This a–h–e told me to shut up.”
Troicki, who once ranked as high as No. 12 in the world, has coached the 20-year-old Medjedovic since late 2022, the Daily Mail reports. However, Tuesday wasn’t the 20-year-old Serb’s day, losing in three sets to Gojo, 7-5, 6-7 , 6-4.Share this article:
