Using vaccines on poultry is one measure that the Biden administration is considering to fight the avian influenza,‘There are a range of options the United States regularly considers when there is any outbreak that could affect the security and safety of the United States’ food supply,’ stated a White House National Security Council spokesperson on Monday.‘Right now, we are focused on promoting and enhancing high-impact biosafety practices and procedures.
A few licensed bird flu vaccines are already in existence, but it is not clear if they protect against the current strain, Stepien added.
