Pennsylvania State Police were on scene of a police incident in Halifax Township
It was around 6:30 p.m. when state police told CBS21 News' Maxine Rose that the suspect had been apprehended. That's almost nine hours after neighbors said it all began in their trailer park community.
“You know, they had a sniper over there laying down ready, they had one behind my place here ready," said Vincent Sledzinski, a neighbor.“I’ve only been here for a year. it’s been peaceful," said Sledzinski. "So, something like this is like, ‘Wow.'”“As things went on we kind of found out bits and pieces," said Sledzinski.Troopers surrounded the trailer, repeatedly asking the person inside to come out or to answer the phone, but had no luck.
“Of course, it’s a little unnerving," said Sledzinski. "I mean, if the guy was in there – he had nowhere to go.”"We have the roads shut down, access roads. If you're looking to go in the area - it's closed down," said Trooper Alex Ebbert, with state police Troop H.State police could confirm with CBS21 News that the suspect was taken to Dauphin County Prison, but we are still waiting to hear from them about who the person responsible for today's standoff was.
