Report: Highway traffic backed up near Katherine Cove
A burning transport at the side of Highway 17 in Lake Superior Provincial Park has traffic backed up this afternoon.
A video from just before 1 p.m. today, shows a burning trailer with a detached truck a short distance in front of it. There is no word on what the tractor trailer was carrying and the Ministry of Transportation had not posted any highway closure information as of shortly before 3 p.m. A SooToday reader sent in the above photo that shows drivers waiting alongside Highway 17N as smoke rises from a scene further ahead. Traffic in both directions was halted as of early this afternoon in the area of Katherine Cove in Lake Superior Provincial Park.
