Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team were called to the scene by Lancashire Police and an air ambulance also attended

The incident took place at around 1.30pm on Sunday . .

READ MORE: Pensioner, 92, rushed to A&E with serious injuries after A59 Liverpool Road crash near Preston A spokesperson for Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team said: "The rescue team were requested by Lancashire Police to attend to an 80-year-old male walker who had fallen and was described as being unconscious in the Fair Snape fell area.

"So team members packaged him up on our mountain rescue bell stretcher and moved him to the nearby air ambulance helicopter, where he was then transferred into the aircraft. The casualty was conscious and doing well at this point.
