“It would be the appropriate, moral and responsible thing for the promoters of the Russian pavilion to voluntarily withdraw from this year’s heritage festival and from all festivals taking place in Edmonton for the duration of Russia’s war out of respect for the Ukrainians being subjected to occupation, oppression — including systematic torture, incarceration and sexual violence and the sensitivities of those whose families and friends are suffering the effects of the war,” the open letter...
