Bruins coach Chip Kelly found potential impact players from the transfer portal without having to look too far outside the Pac-12 Conference
LOS ANGELES — UCLA coach Chip Kelly has a better understanding of what he’s acquired out of the transfer portal following the conclusion of spring practice Friday.
“We played J. Mike in the last game of the year last year so we got a chance to see what type of receiver he was,” Kelly said. “Once he became available in the transfer portal, we didn’t have to watch a whole lot of tape because we studied all his tape leading up to the game.”Oladejo caught the attention of Kelly after watching his impressive performance against UCLA in the 2022 season finale.
Starting linebacker Jon Jon Vaughns is also expected back during the spring, following the conclusion of the baseball season. Sturdivant has spent time learning the Bruins’ offense by watching film with receivers coach Jerry Neuheisel.
