Authorities on Monday released the names of the three people who died along with a dog when two small planes crashed in Watsonville, Calif.

into one another while landing at Watsonville Municipal Airport on Thursday.

Carl Kruppa, 75, of Winton, Calif.; Nannette Plett-Kruppa, 67, also of Winton; and Stuart Camenson, 32, of Santa Cruz, died in the collision, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office said. The two planes in the crash were a twin-engine Cessna 340 with a pilot and a passenger aboard a single-engine Cessna 152 with one pilot, the Federal Aviation Administration said.news talked with Camenson's family and they said he was the pilot of the single-engine Cessna 152. They told the TV station that he was a UC Santa Cruz graduate with degrees in chemistry and earth sciences and worked at the university's IT division.

Camenson earned his pilot's license in June 2020 and on the day of the crash his family said he was practicing"loops, touchdowns and takeoffs" for additional certification, ABC 7The cause of the crash is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and Federal Aviation Administration.
