During his time there, he worked as a tutor and research assistant, at the campus gym and as a security guard at a bar.
He spent five years in the Navy, having joined straight out of high school in 2010. He was a hospital corpsman and also did disaster relief work after the devastating Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.
