UBC opened the scoring on the power play when Rylind MacKinnon beat St. F.X. goalie Jamie Johnson off a rebound with 4:55 remaining in the first period.But the X-Women weren’t going to roll over. Ellie Brown put X on the board 1:20 after Gaskell’s goal when she took a feed from Anna MacCara on an odd-man rush and beat UBC goalie Elsie Hugens.

Less than three minutes later Lauren Dabrowski pulled the X-Women even her point shot beat Hugens with 8:19 remaining in regulation.UBC advances to the semifinals on Saturday against either the No. 6 Nipissing Lakers or the third-ranked Concordia Stingers. The Lakers and Stingers played in the late quarter-final on Friday. St. F.X. will play the loser in a consolation semifinal earlier on Saturday.
