Despite postponement, U.S. Clay Court officials still project finishing tournament on time

Purcell and Altmaier had, by design, been sent out at 11 a.m. to Court 7, which, unlike the stadium court, gets buffeted by a crosswind, so it had the best chance of being playable first. Meanwhile, the matchup between the top-seeded Frances Tiafoe and two-time former champion Steve Johnson inside the stadium was supposed to go on at some point, followed by the fourth-seeded John Isner taking on Gils Browder. But nope.
