Seliger said he considers Collier a conservative and noted that the candidate previously identified as a Republican. Collier touted that in a recent advertisement running across deep-red West Texas, declaring: “I know a lot of good Texas Republicans, and Dan Patrick ain’t one of them.” “With a Republican majority, which we will most certainly have in the Texas Senate, and a Democratic lieutenant governor — they’ll find a way to work together, but it’s going to be along a conservative path, because the Texas Senate will allow nothing else,” he said. “Right now, the Texas Senate simply has Dan Patrick running things the way he wants to, and it's been a huge mistake.”
