BREAKING: Two officers have been shot as spectators gathered for an Independence Day fireworks celebration in Philadelphia.
One officer received a gunshot wound to the shoulder, while a bullet grazed a second officer's head, according to NBC Philadelphia. The officers were reportedly taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
There is a security incident on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Please follow public safety instructions and avoid area. Details to follow. The incident occurred the same day six people were killed and dozens wounded in a shooting at a Fourth of July parade in Highland Park, Illinois.
