Hayward resident Yeison Toroc was beaten Oct. 4, 2021, and declared brain dead three days later.
HAYWARD — Two additional people charged with murder in the beating death of a man outside a laundromat last year have been arrested, police said.
Lucero’s arrest came eight days after the July 5 arrest of 48-year-old Juan Navarro, of Hayward, police said. charged with murder by the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office are 19-year-old Christian Inocencio, of Fremont; 24-year-old Jonathan Delacruz, of Union City; and 27-year-old Kevin Gonzalez, of Hayward. All three are charged with participating in the beating, authorities said. Prosecutors also charged them with intimidating witnesses to the crime; Lucero faces an enhancement alleging use of a beer bottle in the attack.
Police said the motive centers on the suspects’ alleged ties to a Hayward subset of a Southern California street gang.
