Two people, a pedestrian hit by a vehicle and the driver who rendered aid to the man he struck, died Friday night in a multi-vehicle traffic incident on East Colfax Avenue in Aurora.
The incident happened at about 7:50 p.m. on Colfax at Uvalda Street, police said in a news release.
A man was walking across Colfax, not using the crosswalk, when he was hit by a Mitsubishi sedan heading westbound, police said. The driver of the Mitsubishi pulled over and got out of the car to render aid when he was hit by a Mercury Mountaineer. The driver of the Mercury pulled over and remained on the scene.. The driver of the Mitsubishi was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has dash-camera footage, is asked to call the police department’s traffic section at 303-739-7000.
