Suspects were arrested in two fatal shootings in Bay Point Thursday.
BAY POINT — Two males were fatally shot less than eight hours apart Thursday in different areas of Bay Point and suspects were arrested in both killings, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.At about 3:40 p.m. Thursday, Muir Station deputies responded to a report of a shooting on Wharf Drive.Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said deputies later detained two suspects nearby and after being interviewed they were arrested and booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
One was identified as Emmanuel Morales, 18, of Antioch, who was booked on suspicion of murder and possession of an assault weapon. He was being held in lieu of $1 million bail. Jail records listed his occupation as landscaper. The other suspect was identified as Arturo Morales, 38, of Antioch who was booked on suspicion of being an accessory and was being held in lieu of $500,000 bail.. Authorities have not said if the two men are related.The other fatal shooting happened about 8:47 a.m. Thursday at a home on Mountain View Avenue.A suspect identified as Donald Robbins, 63, was detained at the scene and later arrested on suspicion of murder.
A motive for the killing has not been released and investigators have not yet said what the relationship was between the two men. The investigations into both killings are ongoing.
