Two-alarm fire damages abandoned warehouse in East Village [Breaking]
A two-alarm fire caused an estimated $500,000 in damage to a vacant warehouse in the East Village early Tuesday and investigators will try to determine how it started, San Diego fire officials said.
When firefighters arrived they found “heavy fire” coming through the roof and officials quickly called for a second alarm, which summoned more firefighters, a San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesperson said in a written report. In all, about 75 fire personnel responded.Some fire crews will remain on scene for several hours to perform overhaul of the fire, to ensure it doesn’t reignite. Investigators with the Metro Arson Strike Team have been requested to look into the blaze, officials said.
