Representative Carolyn Maloney of New York said in a letter that the DOJ is barring the release of information from the National Archives.
Maloney, a New York Democrat who serves as chairwoman of the committee, said that the Justice Department is barring the release of information from the National Archives, the Associated Press reported. The letter detailed correspondence between the National Archives and House committee between February and late March.
The National Archives announced in February that it had arranged for the transport of 15 boxes containing presidential records from Trump's Mar-a-Lago residence, and later confirmed that some of the records in those boxesThe investigation by the House Committee on Oversight and Reform into former President Donald Trump's handling of White House records is being obstructed by the Justice Department, Representative Carolyn Maloney said in a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland.
