When asked by reporters in the press pool at the White House whether he would throw out the first pitch, the president quipped: “I don‘t know. They got to dress me up in a lot of heavy armor — I’ll look too heavy.”The nation’s capital has Nationals fever after an eight-game winning streak in recent weeks landed the team in the World Series for the first time. Trump, apparently, isn’t immune. The Nationals took a 2-0 series lead on Wednesday night, beating the Astros, 12-3, in Houston.
Friday night’s contest will be the first World Series game in Washington since 1933, when D.C.‘s team at the time, the Senators, took on the New York Giants. President Franklin D. Roosevelt threw out the first pitch in Game 3. The Giants won the championship in five games.
