The Trump administration is discussing winding down the work of the coronavirus task force as the US death toll surpasses 70,000

"We can't keep our country closed for the next five years," Trump said in Arizona when asked whether it's the right time to unwind the group. News of the change drew fire from critics who cited concerns that coronavirus death rates will spike as states roll back restrictions on businesses and people. More than 70,000 people in the U.S. have succumbed to the disease, according to Johns Hopkins University.
