President Trump used this morning's 'Fox & Friends' appearance to blast Marie Yovanovitch, the former Ukraine ambassador by lisettevoytko
Trump claimed Yovanovitch refused to hang his photo in the Ukraine embassy for over two and a half years, which her lawyers later refuted, saying the portraits were hung “as soon as they arrived.”
Trump also called her an"Obama person,” despite Yovanovitch’s having served under Republican and Democratic administrations for decades. The president also suggested Yovanovitch received less harsh treatment by administration officials in the impeachment inquiry because of her gender: “I said, ‘Why are you being so kind?’ ‘Well, sir, she’s a woman. We have to be nice.’”
Trump also said he knew “exactly” who the whistleblower was—and suggested hosts Steve Doocy, Andrea Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade did, too —and called for House intelligence chair Adam Schiff and Joe Biden’s son Hunter to testify in the impeachment inquiry.on Twitter, prompting her to respond in real time: “It’s very intimidating.”
Yovanovitch added during her testimony that as president, Trump was within his rights to remove her from her post, but wondered “why it was necessary to smear my reputation falsely.”
