President-elect Donald Trump has filed a request with the Supreme Court to delay a federal ban on TikTok if it's not sold by January 19th. Trump's filing argues that he alone possesses the expertise to negotiate a resolution that would save the app while addressing national security concerns. The Supreme Court will hear arguments on January 10th.

In Trumps amicus brief, Sauer raised the idea of social media censorship, invoking Brazils recent month-long ban of social media platform X, the treatment of the Hunter Biden laptop story and government efforts to stamp out COVID-19 misinformation as incidents that should give the justices pause.
