A 66-year-old woman was killed when the driver of a pickup truck rammed into her as she pushed her toddler granddaughter in a stroller in a Brooklyn crosswalk on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The 2-year-old girl miraculously suffered only scrapes and bruises as a result of the 1:10 p.m. crash in Bath Beach that left her grandmother mortally wounded, authorities said. The grandmother, who was not immediately identified, was crossing 25th Avenue when a Dodge Ram made a turn onto Bath Avenue and struck her, cops said.
She suffered head trauma and was brought to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, but could not be saved, authorities said. The 66-year-old woman was pushing the stroller in the crosswalk when she was struck and mortally wounded, cops said.The toddler suffered only scrapes and bruises, and she was hospitalized in stable condition.The tot was taken to Maimonides Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition, cops said. It was not immediately clear whether he would face criminal charges.Both the driver and the vehicle were properly licensed and sobriety testing was underway, police sources said.
