The beloved taqueria will once again have a patio restaurant, and this time with alcohol.
“This is a very beautiful, full-circle kind of thing,” Olvera says of the reopening. He always planned to bring his tacos back to Oak Cliff where he dreamed of having a restaurant with people drinking beer and eating tacos on the patio like they did when he first started doing backyard pop-ups eight years ago.
With all necessary city permitting and inspections complete, Olvera says he’s just waiting on equipment deliveries and minor building touch-ups before opening, which he hopes will be on Oct. 1, 2022. He plans to go ahead and open even if he is still awaiting an alcohol license. “I really feel like this is the first time where I’m getting everything I want,” he says. “I feel alive.”
