The Aurora Downtown group will host its annual Trick or Treat Downtown event from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in downtown Aurora, event organizers said.
Costumes are encouraged, and all ages are welcome, group officials said. Aurora Downtown first hosted the event in 2015, and it has since become a yearly tradition according to organizers. The free event invites families to dress up and visit 35 participating locations in downtown Aurora. Small businesses, museums and several restaurants will be open with treats.
The event coincides with Sugar Skull City, a downtown-wide Day of the Dead celebration, and visitors can view ofrendas, painted storefronts and more, Aurora Downtown officials said. Participants can pick up a map of locations taking part in the Trick or Treat Downtown event at Santori Public Library, Aurora Regional Fire Museum and the David L. Pierce Art and History Center downtown. Locations participating in the event will have orange paper pumpkins on their doors, organizers said.
