GCU's Principal and vice-chancellor, Professor Steve Decent said: “It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Chinenye Okonkwo in a tragic road traffic accident.
"We offer our sincere condolences to Chinenye’s family and friends and our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time. “This is a terrible shock for our community, especially those who knew Chinenye. Our Student Wellbeing Team is available to provide support to those who need it and can be contacted at [email protected] or by visiting our Student Wellbeing Centre.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.40pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023, officers received a report of a crash involving two vehicles and a pedestrian on St Vincent Street, Glasgow.“The driver of one of the vehicles, a 28-year-old woman, was arrested in connection with the incident and released pending further enquiries.
