Trace Gas Orbiter Spots ‘Tree Stump’ Crater on Mars planetaryscience space science
, a Martian plain between the Tharsis volcanic province and Arabia Terra to the north of Valles Marineris.
The ‘tree stump’ crater is located in the vast northern plains of Acidalia Planitia, centered at 51.9°N/326.7°E. “Just like on Earth, Mars’ tilt gives rises to seasons, but unlike Earth its tilt has changed dramatically over long periods of time.”
