East Hempfield Township supervisors could take up the issue in their April meeting.

A Lancaster County township is considering pulling its funding from the Lancaster Public Library because of a weekend event.Drag Queen Story Hours continues to cause division, this time among East Hempfield Township supervisors.'It's just a shame to see us have to go down this road yet again with another divisive issue,' supervisor Scott Wiglesworth said.'There's strong opinions on both sides, but my strong opinion is that libraries are great places.

'I don't think it's appropriate for taxpayer dollars to go to any political organization,' Wiglesworth said.'I support the library deciding on their own what types of entertainment to pursue,' Johnson said. The library's executive director doesn't consider the Drag Queen Story Hour a political event and said it's funded by Lancaster Pride and private donations.Wiglesworth believes there would be opposition if other groups wanted to put on events.
