Canmore\u0027s council is raising alarms over a proposed helipad just outside the town\u0027s limits over worries it could disrupt area residents.

‘We’re right across the street’

Canmore’s council voted to direct Krausert to voice concerns over the proposal to the M.D. of Bighorn, as well as the provincial and federal governments. He noted he had already raised the issue with Banff-Kananaskis MLA Miranda Rosin and Bighorn Reeve Lisa Rosvold. “We have a 130-acre lease right across the road from where the helipad would be, and it’s the only place in the area where you can keep a private-owned horse,” said Lisa Young with the Bow Valley Riding Association.

The company plans to run tours from the site year-round, a market gap it says it has heard from international tour operators.
