Toronto added 57,000 jobs in February over the previous month, according to Statistics Canada\u0027s Labour Force Survey (LFS) released Friday.

The number of people working in the private sector grew by 38,500 positions over that same time period while the size of the self-employed group dropped by 8,900..Significant job gains were seen last month in the goods-producing sector, utilities, health care and social assistance and public administration.
Industries shedding jobs in February included information, culture and recreation; educational services; building, business and other support services; and finance, insurance real estate, rental and leasing.
