York police are laying charges after nabbing a suspected impaired driver accused in two different collisions in Markham, including one that saw an SUV crash int
Officers were called to a school playground on Becket Avenue, near Kennedy Road and 16th Avenue, around 8:35 p.m. Sunday.
The driver then took off and sped around the property without attempting to stop, exchange information or help.Police got another call around 9:05 p.m. from someone who spotted the SUV after it reportedly struck a tree on someone’s front lawn on Winston Castle Drive, near Kennedy Road and Major Mackenzie Drive.
The SUV was extensively damaged and the suspect was extracted, taken into custody and brought to hospital, where police say he blew significantly over the legal limit.
