The founder of a human rights organization based in Toronto is facing multiple charges for sexual assaults that allegedly took place during the charity’s meetings.
In a press release Tuesday, Toronto police said a woman who attended meetings at the Canadian Human Rights International Organization in North York was sexually assaulted during some of those meetings.Police said the woman met with the suspect “on numerous occasions for meetings” at the CHRIO and was sexually assaulted during the meetings.
Police told the Star that the charity’s founder, Jose Mario Guilombo, 64, of Toronto, is charged with five counts of sexual assault and two counts of forcible confinement. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them as they believe there may be more victims.
