During a recent appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show, the singer and songwriter shared an update on the health scare that left her hospitalized earlier this year
Show, the singer and songwriter detailed her recovery process, which has allowed her to reach a point where she’s feeling healthier and has a manageable grasp on her condition.
“That was definitely a scary few days. I actually ended up collapsing one night and they found out that I had blood clots. And it was really crazy and scary. My family was definitely there for me, but I had a peace throughout most of it, but I was just kind of confused and wondering what was going on,” she explained. “And I thankfully had some amazing doctors who were able to just take care of everything and get me healthy. And it seems, you know, like it’s a manageable thing.
In July, Kelly was admitted to the ICU at Cedars-Sinai Medical in Los Angeles to be treated for blood clots in her legs and lungs. That same week, her latest EP — and anticipated return to the pop and R&B sphere —was set for release. The project arrived as scheduled, but she had to cancel the launch shows she had planned around it.
