TORBROOK, N.S. — A 26-year-old Torbrook man is facing a slew of charges after allegedly trying to burn down a home in Torbrook West early Sunday morning, Oct. 15.
Around 2:20 a.m., Annapolis District RCMP and fire services were called to a report of a man trying to burn a home on Torbrook Road.Police said Jace Uhlman came to the home uninvited, began causing a disturbance and assaulted a woman before setting fire to an ATV and a pile of wood that was stacked up against the home before fleeing on foot.

Mounties also located a backpack owned by the suspect, which contained what police believe to be crystal meth.Uhlman was taken to the Bridgewater detachment and remanded into custody. He has since been charged with arson, assault, mischief, resisting arrest, five counts of failure to comply with a release order and possession of a controlled substance.
