To celebrate the success of 'Top Gun: Maverick,' which did some filming here in San Diego, Paramount Pictures will be hosting a 'fan appreciation weekend'
San Diego is featured consistently throughout “Top Gun: Maverick,” and filming took place on Ocean Boulevard in Coronado, at the New Point Loma Lighthouse and Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery,
North Island Naval Air Station was also used as a film location and was mentioned repeatedly throughout the movie.“This city really opened its arms to us,” Glen Powell, who plays Lt. Jake ‘Hangman’ Seresin,“So much great food, so much great life. And really, that’s what ‘Top Gun’ is. It’s a celebration of life. And San Diego just has every ounce of that. It’s just I love this city so much.”
Powell also said he would go for runs along the Embarcadero and past the USS Midway Museum while filming in San Diego., including Liberty Station, Kansas City Barbecue, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and The Lafayette Hotel, Swim Club & Bungalows.. “I loved making ‘Top Gun’ here and making ‘Maverick’ was, you know, to have the cast have that same experience is very special.”
For the fan appreciation experience, some theaters will be handing out a new “Top Gun: Maverick” collectors print, while supplies last. Fans can head to
