Tonga accepts Bitcoin donations to help the relief operations as the country faces the onslaught of a tsunami.
Bitcoin supporter and former Tongan lawmaker Lord Fusitu’a to set up a wallet address where people can donate bitcoins for Tonga’s relief funds.
With waves of up to 1.2 meters covering to roads and properties, people started fleeing to higher ground to escape. At the time of writing, there have been no casualties reported. However, air and water contamination are now some of the immediate concerns for aid organizations.
