A 58-year-old Tijuana man who died after his vehicle was rear-ended by a suspected DUI driver in Otay Mesa early Sunday has been identified, authorities said.
Enrique Valerio Lopez was headed north on Interstate 805 near state Route 905 when his Honda SUV was hit from behind by a driver in a Volkswagen coupe shortly before 5:30 a.m., the county Medical Examiner’s Office said. The Volkswagen veered and struck the center divider while Lopez’s car went onto the lateral shoulder, officials said. Another driver called 911 and reported the collision.
