Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT A new trailer for Tales of the Empire proves that the Star Wars show will take a deep dive into how someone joined the Galactic Empire, and what joining really means. Tales of the Empire is replacing Tales of the Jedi, and in the change, it's also taking on much darker characters. Tales of the Empire has several characters and cameos, but two in particular will be the main focus of the show: Barriss Offee and Morgan Elsbeth.

The trailer released by Star Wars highlighted a focus on why people would join the Empire, and one motivation took center stage: revenge. As the text in the trailer suggested, Tales of the Empire will show there is only one path to the dark side, and the Empire. The trailer also showed some scenes of how that path eventually leads to death and destruction, such as the Inquisitors' hunt for an unknown Jedi. While the path itself is well known in Star Wars, why Barriss and Morgan decided to follow it remains a mystery.

Tales Of The Empire Will Show Why Two Characters Join The Empire Close While there may only be one path to the dark side, there are several reasons why someone would choose to follow it.

Also in The Clone Wars, Barriss Offee left the Jedi Order in climactic fashion, by bombing the Jedi Temple. Barriss committed her act of treason because she saw the faults of the Jedi Order and its involvement in the Clone Wars, which led her to the dark side. Barriss now has a chance to reexamine her commitment to the dark side during her Inquisitor training.
