Area beyond the end zone, wind patterns among things to address as San Diego State gets acclimated to its new home
After playing 111 miles to the north the past two seasons, San Diego State players and coaches made themselves at home over the weekend at Snapdragon Stadium.
They were not able to connect, but in stretching out for the ball near the goal post, Murphy’s momentum took him close to the concrete. Very close. The wind that comes through Mission Valley off the ocean was not as noticeable before, perhaps because the field was buffeted by three above-grade levels of seats encircling the stadium.
With seating areas limited on the north and south ends, there is more chance for the wind to be an issue.
