Three Bay Area restaurants get love in Houston Black Restaurant Week for 2023

, which celebrates the diverse culinary cultures of Houston and its surrounding communities.

From April 2-16, the eighth annual event highlights Black-owned restaurants in the greater Houston area to support local the local economy and draw attention to locally owned restaurants. Viola & Agnes, a Louisiana-influenced"Neo Soul Cafe" in Seabrook, Creamer By Kay in League City and Soul Lit Kitchen in Texas City are the three Bay Area restaurants included in this year’s list.Address: 1100 Hercules Ave #100, Houston.opened in 2021 as a business venture for owner Tamia Reese and as a tribute to her late mom, Brenda Kay.

The café specialty is all-natural, keto-friendly coffee creamers made in-house and all made with only three ingredients. Flavors include salted caramel, mocha, white mocha, peppermint, amaretto, sweet cream, hazelnut, as well as customized creamers like peach cobbler, King Cake and cinnamon swirl. The shop also serves typical coffee shop baked goods and sandwiches.“I was trying to deal with the grief of losing my mom and every morning we would get up and have a cup of coffee,” she said. “That’s how all this started.”brings a little of the French Quarter to Seabrook.
