Three accused in historic human trafficking case to stand trial

THUNDER BAY — The three individuals facing numerous charges relating to human trafficking dating back more than 20 years are expected to stand trial later this year.

Proulx was charged on Oct. 4, 2021 with three counts of procuring an individual for prostitution, one count of living off the avails of prostitution of an individual under 18, and one count of sexual exploitation. Marier was also charged with sexual exploitation by way of inciting or inviting a young person to sexual touching and assault with a weapon.
