The children were charged with various offences including fire setting, vandalism, assault and thefts.
Three 12-year-olds and a 13-year-old have been charged by police after a string of criminal offences in Lanarkshire.
The incidents took place in less than three months, between November 15 and January 8 and have led to dedicated patrols being carried out in the area. Officers have urged parents and guardians to "make sure they know where their children are, who they are associating with and what they are doing." "We are aware of the disruptive effect that anti-social behaviour can have on a community and are committed to our ongoing efforts regarding diversionary activities. It is worth stressing that the vast majority of young people do not come to the attention of police but we know that a small minority do sometimes become involved in anti-social behaviour and their actions can have a negative impact on the lives of local residents.
