More than 36,000 outages were reported at about 9 p.m. Most were concentrated in areas served by Public Service Electric & Gas and Jersey Central Power & Light. A severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for several parts of the state Saturday night, and multiple thunderstorm warnings have been issued in different regions of the state. Parts of the state were under tornado warnings throughout the evening.Forecasters said New Jerseyans can expectin diameter and wind gusts up to 70 mph, which are strong enough to topple trees and power lines.
