Coronavirus: Here is the latest list of L.A. County communities with confirmed cases.
Health officials on Wednesday confirmed 29 new coronavirus-linked deaths — the biggest daily jump since the pandemic began — bringing the county’s death toll to 198.
Among the latest victims, 17 were older than 65, seven were between 41 and 65 and one was between 18 and 40. Details about four other deaths were not immediately known. At least 22 of those who died had underlying health conditions. The total number of people in L.A. County testing positive for the virus has reached 7,530, an increase of 1,170 over just two days. The virus’ mortality rate — the percentage of infected persons who die — in the county is 2.6%, Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said.
