Yesterday in Houston history: Housewife gets one obscene call too many
A Houston woman turned the tables on a teen with too much time on his hands, according to a front-page Chronicle article published on this day in 1954.
The woman had been receiving obscene phone calls for a while. Fed up, she and her husband decided to take matters into their own hands. In other news, city leaders envision a"holiday paradise" for Houstonians as the San Jacinto Dam project gets closer to becoming a reality. We know the area these days as Lake Houston, but back then the proposed reservoir created by the dam was called Lake San Jacinto.
