This cruise line is making history with the 1st women-led cruise
Celebrity Cruise Line president and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo and some of the line's womenofficers, including Captain Kate McCue , the first American woman to be named captain of a cruise ship.“When I was appointed to this role five years ago, I felt like I had an opportunity and an obligation and a responsibility to do something about balancing the gender in our industry,” says Lutoff-Perlo. “I thought, ‘This is my chance to really make a difference.
Captain McCue says she is looking forward to meeting all of the women on this historic cruise. “I've worked with a few of them before, but to have all of us in one place at one time—and in such a commanding presence—is going to be an overwhelming experience, not only for each other, but for the guests as well,” says McCue. “It’ll be likeCaptain Kate McCue, inspiring the next generation.
