In Thirteen Ghosts, the remake of the 1960 original film, Cyrus Kriticos, a very rich collector of unique things, dies; he leaves it all to his nephew and his family. All including his house, fortune, and malicious collection of ghosts.
Arthur and his family are given little choice but to move into the new home due to the dire straits they've come upon in recent years. But as they'll discover, the massive, remote glass mansion covered in Latin writing is less a Mansion and more a prison, as they discover they're unable to leave - and the ghostly residence have murderous intentions.
