Canadian blues legend Big Dave McLean has been lured out of semi-retirement by none other than Ottawa’s Steve Marriner, who is bringing the Winnipeg-based septuagenarian to Ontario to record an album. They’re playing a few dates while McLean is in the province, including March 17 at the Rainbow Bistro, 76 Murray St., with an all-star backing band made up of Marriner, his MonkeyJunk bandmate, Matt Sobb, on drums, and Blue Rodeo/Sheepdogs alumni Jimmy Bowskill on guitar.
, which will include performances by students at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland, and the Manhattan School of Music. The stream will be free to watch.
