It’s no secret that a name’s popularity can vary based on what country you live in. When it comes to English baby names, what’s popular in the United States versus across the pond in Great Britain can vary quite a bit.

While both the US and English share a popularity in some top 10 names , there are hundreds more that likely remain hidden from the other country.names and found 180 names that they felt were largely unheard of and not likely used in the US. They found three main types of English names that were rarely used in the US, including English nickname names , native British names and vintage British names .of 90 girls’ names and 90 boys’ names that are among the British top 1000, but rare in the US.
